The Sleep Event
The Sleep Event Exhibition is Europe's leading exhibition for hotel owners, operators, investors, developers, designers, architects, contractors and consultants.
This year introduced a truly unique experience in The Sleepotel 2009
The Sleepotel 2009 gathered internationally renowned architects and interior designers to present their hotel design concepts and trends for the future. This live hotel environment and the work of those at the forefront of design wowed the visitors, They saw first-hand how you can capitalise, through clever design, on those often underutilized areas within a hotel.
Rosehill were honoured to manufacture, deliver and install cabinets for Shaun Clarkson's concept bedroom. Shaun Clarkson is one of the UK’s most prolific designers of modern hospitality whose early work included the infamous RAW club, Atlantic Bar and Denim. Other early design included experiential work for Absolut vodka and seminal venues for VPMG and Pop and Jerusalem for The Breakfast Group. These early examples became a blueprint for the modern bar and club culture we know today.
Shaun Clarkson has brought his glamorous approach to the Sleepotel project with a conceptual take on a hotel bedroom. He explains:
''A hotel room should be an inspired escape of comfort and luxury. Not just a home away from home, but better! Our room encapsulates the guest in a gentle mood changing environment. Dark silhouetted back lit screens evoke a feeling of infinity blurring the bounders of the space. The canopied bed appears to be the only feature, but the room is cleverly lit and serviced by subtitled engineered concealed features. Evoke you mood, adjust and enjoy!”
Although faced with a very tight deadline for completion of the project, Rosehill delivered the intricate and very unique product, working in conjunction with Ocon Construction who managed the overall procurement and installation of the project.
